Role Description
The Cold Room Engineering & Quality Assurance Specialist will serve as the Company's independent technical expert responsible for ensuring that all cold rooms are properly designed, constructed, commissioned, and maintained to consistently operate within their specified temperature ranges.
The role will provide technical oversight over all cold room projects, ensuring that the Company engages competent contractors, uses quality materials, adopts best engineering practices, minimizes construction and maintenance costs, maximizes equipment lifespan, and eliminates recurring cold room failures.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in refrigeration systems, cold room operations, and HVAC equipment, with the ability to diagnose and repair faults efficiently.
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional certification in Refrigeration, HVAC, or Project Management is an added advantage
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in commercial refrigeration, cold room engineering, or industrial refrigeration.
- Demonstrated experience in the design, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of commercial or industrial cold rooms.
- Experience managing contractors and supervising cold room construction projects.
- Experience within the food processing, hospitality, cold chain logistics, manufacturing, or Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry will be an advantage.
- Proven track record of improving cold room reliability, reducing maintenance costs, and delivering durable engineering solutions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Our Ideal candidate must have a demonstrated history of delivering reliable and durable cold room solutions. He should possess sound engineering judgement, excellent contractor management skills, and the ability to identify and eliminate the root causes of recurring cold room failures. Preference will be given to candidate with a stable employment history who have demonstrated long-term commitment and measurable achievements in previous roles. Candidate with frequent, unexplained job changes may not be considered.
Success Measures
Success in this role will be measured by the company's ability to operate cold rooms that consistently maintain their required temperatures, experience minimal downtime, require fewer emergency repairs, incur lower lifecycle costs, and are constructed using quality materials by competent contractors under effective technical supervision.
