Collateral Management Officer (6months Contract - Maternity Cover)

Job Description

The role will be on the Securities Borrowing and Lending (SBL) desk, covering all activities to support the APAC SBL team ensuring effective Collateral Management and optimizing where possible. This job entails working closely with internal, external clients and central counterparties. External clients include those counterparties & Exchanges ABN are active with in Asia Pacific markets. Internal clients are all Clearing staff within the Region and also with Head Office and various departments (such as risk).

Roles and Responsibilities

• Analyse and manage collateral positions with all counterparties in the most cost-effective manner, while taking into account factors such as liquidity;
• Daily reporting of collateral positions to management and the team;
• Cover exposure with counterparties;
• Ensure settlement and accuracy of pledges and returns;
• Reconcile positions between internal systems and external lenders;
• Improve visibility of outstanding pledges and available collateral (i.e. create dashboard);
• Exploring opportunities to optimize the collateral process where possible, this is both for external Counterparties as well as Exchanges;
• Constantly looking at ways to improve the current processes as well as working towards a tri party collateral management setup for the Clearing business;
• Corporate Actions management – As part of the team we would also have some cross coverage into the Corporate Actions space;
• Continual learning within the team to understand the interaction between the businesses and be eager to learn more about the function as well as the changes that will be coming from a regulatory point of view.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree holder or equivalent;
• 3 years of work experience with clearing environment for equities and derivative markets;
• Exposure to Securities Finance, collateral management, and equity trade lifecycle;
• Positive attitude, smart, willing to learn, and a keen eye for detail and accuracy;
• Proficient in MICS, SFCM, Triparty, Python, VBA, R, SAS, SQL, Tableau and Bloomberg.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; and
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
