We are seeking an experienced, organized, and results-driven Collision Center Production Manager to oversee the daily production flow of our collision repair facility.

The Production Manager is responsible for keeping vehicles moving efficiently through every stage of the repair process while maintaining high standards for quality, cycle time, productivity, profitability, communication, and customer satisfaction.

This position works closely with body technicians, painters, estimators, parts personnel, and management to identify and eliminate production delays and ensure repairs are completed safely, correctly, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily production flow of all vehicles in the collision center.
  • Monitor WIP (Work in Process) and ensure vehicles are progressing through each stage of repair.
  • Conduct daily production meetings and establish repair priorities.
  • Coordinate work assignments and workload with body technicians and paint department personnel.
  • Work closely with estimators and technicians during teardown and repair planning.
  • Identify vehicles that are stalled and take immediate action to resolve production bottlenecks.
  • Monitor parts, supplements, insurance approvals, sublet repairs, calibrations, and other issues affecting completion dates.
  • Ensure supplemental parts and repair requirements are identified early in the repair process.
  • Maintain accurate and realistic target completion dates.
  • Monitor technician productivity and efficient utilization of available production stalls.
  • Coordinate movement of vehicles between body, paint, mechanical, detail, quality control, and delivery.
  • Ensure OEM repair procedures and manufacturer requirements are followed.
  • Ensure required documentation, scans, repair procedures, and quality-control processes are completed.
  • Perform or oversee in-process and final quality-control inspections.
  • Help prevent comebacks and avoidable repair delays.
  • Communicate production concerns and potential delivery delays to estimators and management promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient production environment.
  • Assist the Collision Center Manager with achieving monthly sales and operational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Previous collision repair or automotive body shop experience required.
  • Previous production management, shop foreman, team lead, estimator, or similar leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the collision repair process from teardown through final delivery.
  • Knowledge of body repair, refinish operations, parts, supplements, estimating, and quality control.
  • Understanding of OEM repair procedures and modern vehicle repair requirements.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple vehicles and production priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to hold team members accountable while maintaining a professional work environment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume collision center.
  • Basic computer and collision-management-system proficiency.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
