COLUMBIA S1B Ship Design Program Supervisor
Overview
Reporting to the S1B Program Manager, the D618 Program Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of approximately five program representatives to ensure successful execution of S1B design contract (PO 145185) requirements, including the propulsion plant planning estimate and the class wide planning estimate. This position is responsible for items such as the development of personnel, performance management, group staffing, safety, quality, problem resolution, and customer service. Additionally, the supervisor will be responsible to ensure that the tools, processes and resources necessary to meet contract and program objectives are in place. The supervisor will regularly interface with Naval Nuclear Laboratory and Naval Reactors for matters concerning the S1B program.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Oversight of tactical PO 145185 administration and performance
- Understand and make decisions to manage schedules, programmatic budgets, priority, need dates, and drive engineering/design to issue products on time and under budget
- Manage/coordinate responses to emergent program specific design issues and drive the team to a timely solution
- Review of engineering documents for compliance with program guidelines
- Coordinate with other design and construction program offices
- Work with Construction Span Reduction Stakeholders to facilitate PO 145185 source of funding authorizations when applicable
- Coordination with Planning and Finance to support management of the program Artemis schedule
- Coordinate and manage the program manpower plan with Finance
- Present on behalf of the program as part of periodic customer interactions and program reviews
- Some travel may be required
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
- Active DOD Secret Clearance OR the ability to obtain and maintain clearance
- Minimum four years related post-graduate experience in engineering and/or program management
Preferred:
- Previous supervisory experience within Engineering or Program Management
- Experience with Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant programs
- Knowledge and experience working with Government contracts
- Strong background and experience working with both technical and business departments such as Engineering, Legal, Purchasing, Contracts, Finance, and Materials Management
- EB program, commercial and or Government component development contract experience or similar external experience

- Working knowledge of manpower schedules, phasing files, and EVM metrics
