We have a great career opportunity for a Commercial Analyst in a leading Ukrainian renewable energy company with a head office in Kyiv.
With the primary focus on providing dependable clean energy from sustainable renewable sources, our Partner's team operates from the offices in Kyiv, London and Odesa, and its expertise spans the management of solar and wind power plants, as well as development and construction of renewable energy projects, in addition to the robust commercial sales of renewable energy on the electricity market. Currently, the Company's total capacity of solar and wind projects in its ownership and operation is 636 MW, and the Company is actively expanding its presence in the Ukrainian market. Committed to supporting a "green" rebuilding, our Partner actively develops over 200 MW of wind & storage projects and aims to expand to other renewable energy technologies. To support the Company's active growth, we are looking for a detail-oriented Commercial Analyst to maintain and optimize the commercial department's databases, reports, and dashboards. You will consolidate large datasets from various market platforms, ensure data accuracy, and leverage Power BI and AI tools to support forecasting, commercial modeling, and strategic decision-making.
Main Responsibilities:
- Regular updating and maintenance of the department's commercial databases in line with established procedures: loading of market data (day-ahead and intraday markets, imbalance settlement), generation and consumption data, contract and counterparty data;
- Support and updating of existing Power BI reports and dashboards: refreshing data sources, adjusting queries and visuals, monitoring scheduled refreshes and resolving or escalating refresh failures; assistance in building new reports;
- Consolidation of data from different sources (market platform exports, metering and generation systems, internal registers, Excel files) into unified structured datasets;
- Preparation of regular and ad hoc commercial reports in agreed formats: volumes, prices, revenues and margins by asset, product and counterparty;
- Data quality checks: reconciliation between sources, identification of discrepancies and flagging them to the responsible colleagues; maintaining up-to-date descriptions of data flows;
- Support of forecasting and commercial modelling activities under the guidance of senior colleagues: preparation of input datasets, scenario calculations, tracking of forecast accuracy metrics;
- Support of automation of recurring routines using IT and AI tools: Power Query, scripts, AI assistants for generating and debugging queries.
Qualifications and professional experience:
- Higher education in Data Analytics / IT / Mathematics / Statistics / Economics / Energy or related fields;
- Up to 2 years of experience in analytical or data roles; graduates with demonstrable practical skills are welcome to apply;
- Microsoft Excel – advanced level (mandatory): complex formulas, PivotTables, Power Query, handling of large workbooks;
- Power BI – working level (mandatory): ability to build and refresh reports, work with Power Query; basic knowledge of DAX with readiness to develop it on the job;
- Knowledge of the core principles of data analysis: data structuring and normalisation, descriptive statistics, validation of results;
- Experience of working with large data arrays and consolidating data from several sources (including academic or personal projects);
- Experience of AI assistants in day-to-day data work together with the ability to critically verify their output;
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy; willingness to learn and to work with several parallel tasks within reporting deadlines;
- English – Intermediate (ability to work with English-language materials and reporting).
