The Commercial Credit Analyst II identifies, monitors, and describes credit risk in a commercial banking environment. Performs financial spreading and analysis, credit underwriting, evaluation of commercial borrowers, covenant testing, and performs occasional special projects.
Essential Job Functions
- Analyze financial statements, evaluate personal and commercial creditworthiness, and prepare comprehensive credit approval packages for new loan requests.
- Independently underwrite new financing requests, complete annual commercial loan reviews, and maintain responsibility for assigned borrower relationships.
- Identify, assess, and document financial, operational, industry, economic, and management risks that may impact a borrower's ability to meet obligations, recommending appropriate risk ratings and action plans when needed.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret financial and supporting documentation, obtaining additional information as necessary to ensure timely and accurate credit decisions.
- Maintain commercial credit files and portfolio quality while supporting Commercial Lending with quarterly reviews, preliminary memos, construction site inspections, customer visits, meetings, and loan structuring.
- Assist junior analysts and interns by answering questions, modeling best practices, and providing guidance on credit analysis and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Bank credit policies, lending procedures, federal and state regulations, and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), documenting exceptions and verifying transactions and account balances as applicable.
- Provide administrative support to the Credit Administration team and Commercial Lending Officers while remaining current on Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements through ongoing training.
