Our market-leading portfolio will have over 40 brands, including Jim Beam® and Maker's Mark® Bourbon, Hibiki® Japanese Whisky, Canadian Club® Whisky, -196, V Energy, Maximus, and Suntory BOSS Coffee. As One Suntory, we will be positioned as the fourth largest beverage player in the region, ready to ignite the category, creating more beverage moments from sunrise to sunset. Together, we will bring the best of Suntory to Oceania.

The Opportunity:

As our Commercial Data Steward, you'll sit within the Commercial Transformation function and act as the critical link between business stakeholders and technical data teams. You'll ensure the integrity, governance and effectiveness of commercial data across the organisation, helping shape the decisions that drive pricing, revenue growth, customer execution and business performance.

This role is ideal for someone who understands both the technical and commercial dimensions of data. You'll work across multiple systems, data sources and business processes, partnering with teams across Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Revenue Growth Management and Commercial Performance to improve data quality, governance and business outcomes.

Success in this role will come from your ability to influence stakeholders, solve complex data challenges and connect processes across functions. You'll assess how data is created, maintained and consumed across the organisation, identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, consistency and operational effectiveness.

This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to shape best-practice data stewardship and governance capabilities across Suntory Oceania while driving meaningful outcomes for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving data quality across key commercial systems including SAP S/4HANA, MySH, Trax, OnTap and associated reporting platforms.
  • Identifying, investigating and resolving commercial data quality issues, while addressing root causes to prevent recurrence.
  • Acting as the commercial subject matter expert for master data governance, standards and stewardship.
  • Partnering with Sales, Commercial Performance, RGM, Finance, Category, Supply Chain and IT teams to improve data governance and accountability.
  • Translating technical data issues into their real-world commercial impact across pricing, rebates, incentives, reporting and customer execution.
  • Supporting governance forums, stewardship practices and continuous improvement initiatives as Suntory Oceania continues its transformation journey.
  • Contributing to future master data management and capability-building initiatives across the ANZ business.
  • Assessing how data is created, maintained and consumed across key business processes, identifying opportunities to improve data quality, governance and operational effectiveness.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in Data Stewardship, Master Data, Data Governance, Commercial Analytics, Sales Operations, Commercial Excellence or Business Process Management within a complex commercial, sales, supply chain or FMCG environment.
  • Strong understanding of the broader commercial technology landscape, including ERP, CRM, reporting and execution systems, and how data flows between them.
  • Strong stakeholder management and business partnering capability, with the ability to influence and drive accountability across teams that you do not directly manage.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and act as the connective tissue between business functions to assess, enhance and govern data quality across the end-to-end commercial process.
  • A commercial mindset, with the ability to translate data issues into business impact, whether that relates to pricing, rebates, incentives, reporting accuracy, customer service or field execution.
  • Understanding of business analytics frameworks and the role master data plays in enabling trusted reporting, commercial insights, performance measurement and decision-making.
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets and high-volume data environments, with the ability to identify issues, determine root causes and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Strong understanding of how data is created, maintained and consumed across multiple business processes including Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Category, Revenue Growth Management and Customer Operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, coupled with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, Power BI and connected commercial systems is highly regarded.
