Position Purpose

The Business Analytic Insight Manager bridges the gap between raw commercial data and strategic decision-making. Operating at the intersection of Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE) and Financial Performance, this role is responsible for transforming complex datasets - ranging from field force activity to financial metrics - into actionable insights and strategic recommendations. You will serve as a key advisor to local commercial leadership and regional stakeholders, ensuring our resource allocation and sales strategies maximize both market impact and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Advanced Analytics & Insight Generation

  • Data Integration: Synthesize disparate data sources including SFE KPIs, call data, Customer Segmentation & Targeting (CS&T), financial metrics into unified commercial dashboards.

  • Insight to Action: Move beyond standard reporting to uncover the “why” behind the data. Provide clear, data-driven recommendations to improve sales force productivity and commercial return on investment (ROI).

  • Predictive Modeling: Identify trends in field force behavior, market dynamics, and financial performance to forecast future outcomes and risks.

2. Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE) Optimization

  • Resource Allocation & Territory Design: Analyze market potential and workload metrics to optimize territory alignment and headcount allocation across business units.

  • Target Setting & Incentives: Partner with SFE to ensure sales targets are fair, motivating, and mathematically sound. Analyze incentive payout structures against actual performance to ensure a strong ROI.

  • Competency & Performance Mapping: Correlate field force competency levels and training completion rates with actual sales performance to identify capability gaps and commercial impact.

3. Financial & Commercial Integration

  • Call Plan Efficiency: Analyze call data (frequency, coverage, and execution) against financial performance to determine the optimal promotional mix and cost-per-call efficiency.

· Incentive Accrual: Collaborate with Commercial Effectiveness and Finance to estimate incentive accruals by incorporating the approved incentive scheme, special incentives, and reward programs into the accrual estimation process to support accurate financial planning and reporting.

· Target & Incentive Analysis: Analyze sales performance data alongside incentive payouts, special incentive schemes, and number of field force (FF) engagements to assess effectiveness, identify what went well and areas for improvement, and present key findings and recommendations to the Incentive Committee.

  • P&L Alignment: Evaluate SFE metrics against financial indicators such as Gross Margin (GM), EBIT, and business unit P&Ls to ensure sales activities align with profitability goals.

4. Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with Sales Managers, Marketing, Finance, and HR to align data insights with broader business strategies.

  • Regional Synergy: Act as the local point of contact for regional analytics teams. Share local best practices, adopt regional frameworks, and contribute to regional data standardization initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience & Education

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.

  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in business analytics, commercial excellence, Sales Force Effectiveness or financial planning, strictly within the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry.

  • SFE Knowledge: Proven experience working with pharmaceutical SFE processes.

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Data Literacy: Expert proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and advanced Excel. Familiarity with SQL, Python, or R is a strong advantage.

  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial statements, specifically how sales activities directly impact the P&L, Gross Margin, and EBIT.

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex statistical or financial data into simple, compelling stories for executive leadership.

  • Language: Fluent in local language and English (written and spoken) for effective regional collaboration.
