As an Electrical Assistant Project Manager (APM), you’ll play an important role on large-scale commercial electrical construction projects, working alongside the project management and field leadership teams to deliver complex projects safely, efficiently, and successfully.

You’ll help coordinate the work of superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams as they build the electrical infrastructure for data centers, hospitals, universities, large manufacturing facilities, and other major commercial and industrial projects.

Commercial Electrical Construction Experience Required

Key Responsibilities

Project Administration

• Manage and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project logs and records.
• Assist with project schedules, documentation, and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Financial Management

• Track labor hours, material costs, and project expenditures.
• Review subcontractor invoices and assist with invoice processing.
• Help prepare cost-to-complete projections, forecasts, and project financial updates.
• Identify potential cost issues and communicate them to the project management team.

Field & Project Coordination

• Conduct regular jobsite walks to monitor progress and identify issues.
• Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades.
• Track construction progress against project schedules and milestones.
• Help resolve field issues and keep information flowing between the office and the field.
• Support the project team in maintaining compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements.
• Participate in project meetings and communicate project status, issues, and action items.

Team Leadership & Development

• Work closely with project managers and field leadership to keep projects moving forward.
• Develop strong working relationships with field teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Take increasing responsibility as your knowledge, skills, and project experience grow.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of commercial electrical construction experience.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, industrial, institutional, or mission-critical electrical projects is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field .
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and understand electrical construction plans, specifications, and project documentation.
• Comfortable working in both office and active construction-site environments.
• Willingness and ability to travel as project needs require.
• Ability to pass standard pre-employment screening requirements.
