Commercial Finance Manager BeNeLux & E-Commerce

This position is based in Amsterdam and you will be reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance EMEA.

The Commercial Finance Manager Benelux & E-Commerce is a strategic business partner to Sales and Marketing teams across Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Middle East, and E-Commerce channels. The role provides financial leadership, commercial insights, and decision support to drive profitable growth, improve margins, optimize investments, and ensure strong financial governance.
Your main responsibilities will include:

Commercial Business Partnering

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to evaluate business performance, profitability, and growth opportunities.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support commercial decision-making.
  • Challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve revenue, margin, and return on investment.
  • Support annual customer negotiations through financial analysis, scenario modelling, and preparation activities.
  • Develop and evaluate business cases for product launches, marketing investments, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support CAPEX business cases and monitor project financial performance through implementation.

Financial Planning, Forecasting & Analysis

  • Lead forecasting and planning activities for assigned markets and channels.
  • Coordinate commercial inputs into the S&OP process.
  • Conduct monthly and periodic business reviews, highlighting key risks and opportunities.
  • Deliver insightful performance reporting and variance analysis.
  • Support annual budgeting and strategic planning processes.

Digital Finance & Process Improvement

  • Drive reporting automation and process improvements.
  • Leverage ERP systems and Business Intelligence tools to enhance decision-making.
  • Improve data accessibility, quality, and reporting efficiency.

Governance & Financial Control

  • Ensure robust control of trade spend, rebates, and accruals.
  • Partner with Accounting teams to maintain financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Support year-end closing activities and statutory audits.
  • Ensure financial governance and policy adherence across commercial activities.

EU Citizenship and/or a valid work permit is required. Please note that relocation assistance is not available for this position. All applications must be submitted in English, as it is the company’s corporate language.

    • University Degree in Finance / Business Administration
    • Fluent in English, conversational fluency in Dutch is a plus
    • 5 to 8 years of experience in Finance or FP&A preferably with an FMCG company
    • Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of how pricing, promotions, trade investments, and customer negotiations impact profitability. Ability to balance top-line growth with margin and profit delivery. Deep understanding of FMCG commercial drivers and customer profitability.
    • Strategic Thinking: Ability to assess commercial opportunities and risks by using financial insights to influence long-term business decisions.
    • Business Partnering & Influencing: Builds trusted relationships with Sales, Marketing, and senior stakeholders. Effectively communicates financial concepts in a commercial context
    • Analytical Excellence: Strong problem-solving and financial modelling capabilities. Ability to translate large datasets into actionable business insights. Identifies trends, risks, opportunities, and root causes.
    • Financial Planning & Performance Management: Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and performance analysis. Strong understanding of P&L management and value drivers.
    • Digital & Data Literacy: Advanced Excel capability and strong proficiency with SAP/Oracle and Power BI/Tableau. Experience using planning tools such as Pigment is advantageous.
    • Financial Governance & Control: Strong understanding of trade spend management, accruals, rebates, and audit requirements.
    • Results Orientation: Demonstrates ownership and accountability and operates effectively in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. Focuses on execution and delivery of measurable results.
