Commercial Finance Manager: Business Development
Reports to: Director of Business Development
People First. Safety is the Foundation.
Shape the Deal. Own the Numbers. Deliver the Launch.
What if your next finance role wasn't just reporting the numbers after the fact, but building the business case that helps us win new programs, then driving the financial performance of those programs through launch?
At Motus Integrated Technologies, we're looking for a commercially minded finance professional to serve as the financial partner to our sales team. As Commercial Finance Manager, you'll be the financial lead on new program pursuits and responsible for driving the financial performance of the programs we win through launch.
This is a highly cross-functional role at the intersection of business development, finance, manufacturing, and program launch. You'll build the business case behind our quotes, shape pricing and strategy, and give the sales team the financial analysis they need to negotiate with confidence. Once we win, you'll stay with the program and drive the financials through launch and into production.
You'll influence decisions that directly impact revenue, profitability, and capital investment, working alongside sales, engineering, operations, purchasing, and program management to make sure the business we quote is business we can deliver profitably.
If you're someone who enjoys solving complex problems, understanding how things are made, partnering with a sales team, and turning numbers into business decisions, this could be your next move.
What You'll Do
  • Serve as the financial partner to the sales team on new program pursuits, from RFQ through award.
  • Build and own program business cases, including pricing strategy & investment
  • Develop pricing and margin recommendations and give the sales team the analysis and negotiation support they need in customer discussions.
  • Evaluate opportunities against key financial metrics and help drive the team to where they need to be.
  • Afterward, track each program's financial performance against the quoted business case through launch, including capital and tooling spend, launch costs, and early production margin.
  • Identify cost overruns and engineering changes early, quantify their impact, and support the commercial team in recovering tooling and engineering costs from customers.
  • Report program financial status to leadership and drive corrective actions with operations, engineering, and program teams when performance drifts from plan.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who combines financial and manufacturing acumen with strong commercial instincts.
Minimum Skills and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, cost accounting, or financial planning and analysis.
  • 3+ years of program finance, quoting, or cost analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Plex or similar manufacturing ERP systems.
  • Strong command of manufacturing cost structures, business case modeling, quoting, pricing, and margin analysis.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial analysis clearly to sales, operations, and leadership, and to support customer discussions when needed.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience working directly with automotive OEMs.
  • Understanding of order-to-cash, billing, and accounts receivable processes.
  • Experience with automotive program launch finance, including tooling, capital investment, and engineering change recoveries.
  • Experience supporting pricing negotiations or commercial change recoveries with customers.
Why This Role Matters
At Motus, this isn't a finance role where you'll simply report results after the fact.
You'll be the financial voice behind the business we go after
You'll have a seat at the table when opportunities are evaluated, build the business case behind every quote, give our sales team the financial insight to win, and stay accountable for each program's financial performance through launch, so the business we win delivers the margin we planned.
You'll work across the organization, partner with leaders at multiple levels, and gain a broad view of how an automotive manufacturing business operates, from the first quote to launch and beyond.
If you're a driven problem solver who sees both the numbers and the bigger picture, we want to connect with you.
