Perfection Group is hiring an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to support our continued growth in North Alabama and southern Middle Tennessee. Based in the Huntsville area, you’ll provide service to commercial and industrial customers throughout the surrounding territory.

This is an opportunity to perform challenging technical work, build strong customer relationships, and help establish Perfection Group’s growing presence in the Huntsville market. You’ll work independently in the field while being supported by an experienced Service team, strong operational leadership, and continued technical training.

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience

  • Overtime paid after eight hours worked in a day

  • Double time for work performed on observed holidays and between midnight and 6:00 a.m.

  • Paid drive time after the first 30 minutes of your commute each way

  • Take-home company vehicle with fuel, maintenance, and operating costs paid by Perfection Group

  • Weekly on-call stipend equal to seven hours of your regular hourly rate when scheduled for rotation

  • Additional pay for call-outs and qualifying after-hours work

  • Company-provided major tools, technology, uniforms, and PPE

  • Safety boot reimbursement

  • Paid company and manufacturer technical training

  • Company-paid medical coverage for associate-only plans

  • Dental and vision coverage

  • Company-paid life insurance

  • Company-paid short- and long-term disability coverage

  • Paid time off and paid parental leave

  • Floating holiday

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Annual profit sharing

  • Employee referral bonus program

  • Year-round commercial service work

  • Opportunities to expand your technical expertise and help develop other technicians

The Work

You’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial HVAC equipment at customer facilities throughout Huntsville, North Alabama, and the surrounding service area.

Depending on your experience and customer assignments, equipment may include:

  • Packaged rooftop units

  • Split systems and heat pumps

  • Air-handling and make-up air systems

  • Chillers and chilled-water systems

  • Boilers and hydronic systems

  • Commercial refrigeration equipment

  • Variable-frequency drives and HVAC controls

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, airflow, hydronic, and controls-related problems

  • Identifying the root cause of equipment failures and developing practical repair solutions

  • Performing preventive maintenance that improves equipment reliability, efficiency, and service life

  • Clearly explaining equipment conditions, repair needs, and recommended solutions to customers

  • Identifying necessary parts and completing repairs according to manufacturer specifications and safe work practices

  • Maintaining accurate service notes, repair documentation, and follow-up information

  • Communicating scheduling changes, parts needs, and customer concerns promptly

  • Coordinating effectively with dispatch, leadership, customers, and other technicians

  • Participating in a rotating emergency on-call schedule, including nights and weekends

  • Maintaining an organized company vehicle, tools, inventory, and work area

  • Participating in company- and manufacturer-provided technical and safety training

  • Sharing technical knowledge and supporting the development of less-experienced technicians

What You Bring

  • Five or more years of commercial or industrial HVAC service experience

  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

  • Experience independently managing commercial service calls from diagnosis through completion

  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, airflow, and control systems

  • Experience servicing a variety of commercial HVAC equipment

  • Universal EPA Section 608 certification

  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record

  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, leadership, and teammates

  • Commitment to safe, accurate, high-quality work

  • Dependability, sound judgment, and ownership of customer commitments

  • Ability to work independently while remaining connected and accountable to the broader team

Experience with chillers, boilers, commercial refrigeration, building automation, or advanced controls is highly valued, but we do not expect every strong technician to be an expert in every system.

Completion of an HVAC trade-school program, apprenticeship, or equivalent technical training is preferred. Comparable commercial field experience will also be considered.
