Commercial Interior Project Manager

Summary

Manages office buildouts and renovations for a global energy consultancy, coordinating with brokers, architects, and contractors to plan, schedule, and execute commercial interior projects while ensuring budgets and lease compliance.

Description

This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of work spent in office and working remote from home.

Sargent & Lundy provides comprehensive consulting, engineering, design, and analysis for electric power generation and power delivery projects worldwide. With a highly professional and experienced staff solely dedicated to the energy business, we have the ability and know-how to take on the smallest tasks as well as the largest projects.

We are seeking a project manager with commercial interiors construction experience who will manage the construction of our growing regional portfolio, including new buildouts and expansions.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with outside real estate brokers to identify and evaluate locations for new regional offices.
  • Manage project planning and scheduling, contractor engagement, and construction administration.
  • Collaborate with architects and MEP designers to develop construction drawings that meet our corporate standards.
  • Contract negotiation and procurement management for general contractors, architects, and other service providers.
  • Compile and report weekly project updates.
  • Proactively resolve construction and furniture issues.
  • Construction administration, including conducting weekly OAC meetings, on-site inspection of construction progress, final punch list walk downs, and project close-out.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or related equivalent with ten (10) or more years of experience in managing corporate interior construction projects.
  • Advanced understanding of interior construction methods, MEP systems, IT/AV integration, access control systems, and systems furniture.
  • Working knowledge of building codes and ADA requirements.
  • Leadership skills to guide teams and build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, property managers, architects, contractors, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding construction drawings, shop drawings, and submittals.
  • Experience with project management tools, such as Asana, Procore, or Microsoft Project.
  • Space planning and AutoCAD skills are a plus but not required.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 40%).

Compensation Range

$87,378 - $133,494
