Salary: $58,000-$85,000 annually, commensurate with experience*

Job Summary

The Commercial Lines Insurance Account Manager serves as the primary day-to-day contact for a diverse book of commercial business, managing the full client lifecycle from marketing and quoting through binding, servicing, and renewal.

Success in this role requires strong technical insurance knowledge, sharp organizational skills, and a genuine commitment to protecting clients' businesses through proactive risk management, accurate policy servicing, and responsive, relationship-driven service.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Carrier Relationship Management

Serve as the day-to-day contact for all client requests within an assigned book of business.
Develop and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, carriers, and underwriters.
Provide outstanding, responsive customer service that reflects Glenwood's client-first culture.
Act as a knowledgeable advisor, helping clients understand their coverage options and exposures.

Marketing, Quoting & Policy Servicing

Support data gathering and administrative elements of new and renewal applications, as required.
Participate in marketplace engagement with appropriate carriers; may occasionally be involved in negotiations of terms, coverages, and pricing.
Receive and review quotes for accuracy, coverage adequacy, and competitive pricing.
Process policy endorsements, certificates of insurance, and other servicing requests promptly and accurately.
Perform basic contract reviews and resolve coverage or premium discrepancies.

Renewal & Retention Management

Support the renewal process in partnership with the assigned Account Executive from start to finish in accordance with agency SOPs and timelines.
Collaborate on review of book of business in support of identification of coverage gaps, exposure changes, and cross-sell opportunities.
Support retention through consistent, high-quality service across the full policy lifecycle.

Documentation, Compliance & Systems

Maintain accurate, well-organized client files and documentation within the agency management system.
Ensure policy documentation complies with agency procedures and carrier/regulatory requirements.
Leverage technology and automation tools to improve efficiency and accuracy in daily workflows.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Producers, CSRs, and Account Executives to deliver a seamless client experience.
Collaborate with Accounting on billing questions, premium discrepancies, and payment issues.
Support teammates and contribute to a collaborative, solutions-oriented office culture.

Qualifications

Required

Property & Casualty Insurance License.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong working knowledge of commercial lines coverage forms, rating, and terminology.
Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with agency management systems and Microsoft Office.

Preferred

3+ years of experience as a Commercial Lines Account Manager or in a similar role.
Experience with carrier portals and online rating platforms.
Additional insurance designations (CISR, CIC, CPCU) a plus.

Success Measures
Within the first 12 months, the Commercial Lines Insurance Account Manager will:

Independently manage a full book of commercial business with minimal errors or E&O exposure.
Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and carrier partners.
Meet on-time renewal processing and documentation accuracy targets.
Identify and act on cross-sell and retention opportunities within the assigned book.
Demonstrate consistent, professional client service that reflects Glenwood's reputation and values.
