Our client is a global leader in the design and delivery of high-tech facilities for the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and data centre industries. Particularly someone who has handled large-value projects, subcontractor negotiations, variations, claims and full contract administration.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of assigned engineering/construction projects.
- Develop procurement strategies and manage subcontractor and supplier tendering.
- Pre-qualify subcontractors/suppliers, review bids, analyse pricing and negotiate commercial terms.
- Prepare and manage Letters of Award, subcontract agreements and contract documentation.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, changes and claims to protect project profitability.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Finance, Legal and other stakeholders on commercial matters.
- Manage contract administration, including notices, contractual correspondence, bonds, insurance and warranties.
- Review and negotiate variations, claims and cost proposals from clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare regular cost forecasts, budgets and commercial reports, highlighting cost variances and project risks.
- Monitor client payments and support positive project cash flow.
- Provide commercial and contractual guidance to the project and commercial teams.
- Lead commercial meetings, knowledge sharing and development of junior team members.
- Manage final accounts, claims settlement and project close-out, including completion of contractual documentation.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the engineering or construction industry.
- Experience managing large-scale projects valued above USD 10 million.
- Strong experience in contract management, cost control, procurement, tendering and claims/variations.
- Familiarity with SIA, PSSCOC and other international forms of contract.
- Able to understand construction drawings, specifications and contractual requirements.
- Good knowledge of local subcontractor and supplier networks.
- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
