Commission Accounting Specialist

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

• Enter commissions received into commission accounting systems in an accurate and timely manner
• Ensure batch totals entered into accounting system (Applied Epic) reconcile to the amount recorded in the Deposit Register. Any differences are to be investigated and resolved
• Resolve a full range of internal and external requests (i.e. discrepancies)
• Perform clerical work such as scanning, running reports, Filing, copying, faxing etc.
• Assist with training on subject matter (i.e. commission accounting tasks)
• Become proficient in the use of commission accounting system and understand the ramifications of data entered and its impact on the financial operations of the company
• Additional responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Accounting and insurance experience or accounting education
• Basic math skills
• Proficient use of Excel
• Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications Required

• High school diploma or GED required

• Bachelor’s Degree or two years of experience on a specialized subject matter

• Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise

• Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally

• Effective customer service skills

• Proficient use of applicable technology

• Ability to work in team environment as well as independently

• Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilities
