Commissioning Engineer
Functional roles and responsibilities
- Responsible for project commissioning of building management systems
- Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues on highly complex systems within a set timeframe and according to a defined process, service agreement, and customer needs
- Provide technical coaching to less experienced service team members and coordinate on-site work activities for highly complex and multi-person jobs
- Maintain all lines of communication with clients, subcontractors, and across the business
- Provide regular updates to the client as well as guidance to subcontractors on project installation or commissioning requirements
- Site coordination and management with respect to installation, cabling, and termination activities
- Participate in the design of the project execution in coordination with the BMS project manager
- Programming, testing, and commissioning of the complete BMS systems (network, controllers, workstations, sensors, actuators, etc.)
- Creation of BMS graphical user interfaces (GUI)
- Responsible for project target KPIs such as efficient engineering design, on-time execution, on-scope engineering, and quality
- Customer training and project close-out
Education, certification, and continued education
Degree graduate in mechanical, electrical, electronics engineering, or relevant disciplines
Years of experience
- At least 5 years of experience in execution of BMS projects
- Experience in BMS project installation, commissioning, programming (graphical programming and/or coding), good knowledge and practice of integration: LON/BACnet/MSTP protocols, TCP/IP networks, MODbus, KNX, Profibus
- Proven track record of understanding and analysing technical documents for BMS
