- Develop and implement commissioning strategies, plans and procedures for Balance of Plant projects.
- Review design documentation, technical specifications and construction deliverables to ensure commissioning readiness.
- Coordinate commissioning activities across multiple workstreams, contractors and stakeholders.
- Manage pre-commissioning, commissioning and energisation phases in line with project programmes.
- Execute testing and commissioning of HV and LV electrical systems.
- Commission protection and control systems, including relay testing and functional verification.
- Commission SCADA, RTU and communication systems and verify integration with operational networks.
- Perform point-to-point testing, interface testing and end-to-end system validation.
- Coordinate factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT) and integrated system testing.
- Witness testing activities carried out by subcontractors and equipment manufacturers.
- Verify compliance with Scottish Power technical standards, specifications and operating procedures.
- Prepare commissioning risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
- Ensure compliance with Scottish Power Safety Rules, CDM Regulations and Electricity at Work Regulations.
- Support permit-to-work, isolation and switching activities where authorised.
- Identify, record and close commissioning defects and non-conformances.
- Troubleshoot system faults and coordinate corrective actions to achieve successful energisation.
- Produce commissioning reports, test records, certificates and handover documentation.
- Maintain commissioning dossiers and quality records throughout the project lifecycle.
- Liaise with Scottish Power engineers, project managers, construction teams and operational stakeholders.
- Attend project progress, technical and commissioning coordination meetings.
- Support outage planning and network access requirements.
- Monitor progress against programme milestones and report commissioning status.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to commissioning technicians and junior engineers.
- Support asset handover to operations and maintenance teams.
- Drive continuous improvement, lessons learned and best practice across the framework.
- Ensure all assets are commissioned safely, efficiently and accepted by the client at first submission.
