Key responsibilities

  • Manage all execution of electrical commissioning activities to achieve the commissioning schedule on target with all safety requirements, especially during SIMOPS.
  • Responsible for electrical commissioning activities offshore.
  • Lead execution for electrical commissioning at site (offshore and onshore) and keep commissioning execution committed to targets defined by project management.
  • Supervise contractor electrical commissioning activities, ensuring commissioning methodology is respected and the system database is used properly.
  • Accountable for readiness of commissioning spare parts and special tools for electrical packages.
  • Manage system completion, walkdowns, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) for electrical systems.
  • Contribute to the development of commissioning documents, including procedures, method statements, and check sheets used during commissioning.
  • Ensure the correct application of safety and cybersecurity procedures during electrical commissioning activities (1st energization, LOTO, PTW, JSA).
  • Maintain a register of lessons learned for the offshore scope.

General accountabilities

  • Ensure all activities are undertaken in compliance with company safety, health, environment, and quality policies, regulations and standards.
  • Contribute to the development of Qatari employees (for expatriate employees as a condition of employment).
  • Ensure all activities comply with anti-trust and competition laws and company firewall policies and procedures.

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in applied sciences or engineering.

Knowledge and experience

  • 8 years' experience with large projects in the oil and gas industry, including 1 year of experience in a supervisory role or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
  • Knowledge of contract requirements including codes, standards, and technical specifications compliance.
  • Experience in projects execution, engineering, operations, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and systems completion.
  • Expert in reading P&IDs, datasheets, general arrangement drawings, and procedures.
  • Experience with vendors operating in the LNG industry (e.g., compressors, power generation, control systems, topsides).
  • Experience managing commissioning execution and performing OTs of all electrical systems: UPS, normal and emergency power distribution, subsea cable and umbilical, transformers.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of electrical systems, including LV and HV systems, power distribution boards, control systems, protection relays, and subsea power cable.
  • Familiar with LOTO procedures and electrical codes and standards.
  • Experience with handling EPC contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  • Conversant with ATEX/IEC regulations.
  • Experience in start-up support and handover to operation.
  • Experience in offshore environments.

Technical and business skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT.
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with contractor teams and obtain required information.
  • Experienced with interface coordination, support activities, and documentation.
