Job Description Summary

  • Lead a team of Commissioning Agents that confirms all arriving equipment is the correct make and model and in good, operable condition including taking pictures and recording equipment information into a computer database (Procore). Escalate to the relevant parties if the equipment is incorrect, damaged, or missing parts as needed. Follow-up as needed to address any identified issues.
  • Ensure team is properly following Commissioning standards, expectations, and jobsite documentation requirements using Procore.
  • Respond to observations assigned to our company immediately and record their completion in the database
  • Train, mentor, and develop Commissioning team agents ensuring individuals are cross-trained.
  • Coordinate with project managers, other peer managers, and trade superintendents on current issues, trends, upcoming, or outstanding Commissioning matters to completion.
  • Lead, attend, and engage in commissioning meetings and jobsite walks.
  • Verify team completion of Commissioning tasks and documentation completion.
  • Document and share Commissioning processes, procedures, and best practices for team-wide knowledge and use.
  • Maintain excellent customer relationships and problem-solve as issues arise.
  • Report to the site project manager to keep them advised of commissioning activities, observations, and their completion status.
  • Ensure team administrative documentation is complete and on time, ie time sheets.
  • Assist the project managers, superintendents, foreman, commissioning team, and safety technicians with their tasks as needed when not performing commissioning activities
  • Other managerial duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
• Principally field work on Construction job sites; some time spent in office or onsite job trailer for admin & logistics.
• Job requires occasional work at-heights and occasional work outside to include in inclement weather.
• Medium duty: Prolonged standing, crouching, and movement on foot across unimproved terrain throughout work site.
• On-site transportation provided.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of HVAC/R, piping, plumbing, commissioning, and/or applicable mission critical experience.
  • Prior Construction commissioning and/or Construction QA/QC experience
  • 1-2 years + of demonstrated success as a Commissioning and/or QA/QC team lead or manager.
  • Must be able to lead, foster, and support a teamwork environment, placing a high emphasis on team development, team success and excellent customer service.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and comfortably with team members, customers, and employees over the phone and in-person
  • Strong organizational and document management skills with demonstrated abilities to follow-up and follow-through.
  • Ability to delegate, follow-up, multi-task, and prioritize work based on deadlines and team workload; excellent time management and delegation skills are necessary to succeed in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong ability to read drawings, blueprints, and understand specifications.
  • Demonstrated scheduling and scheduling conflict resolution of start-ups and TAB.
  • Well-rounded leadership, task clarity, effective communication to all audiences, and attention-to-detail are highly critical in this role.
  • Proven ability to foster a positive and productive safety culture while promoting cooperation and improved morale throughout the division
  • High proficiency with Procore.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and any site-specific background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Mission Critical experience and/or strong familiarity.
  • Local to the Greater Hobart, Indiana area (within 60-minute drive).
  • 5+ demonstrated managerial success leading a Construction Commissioning and/or QA/QC team.
