Commissioning Planning Engineer
As Commissioning Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, scheduling and monitoring of all commissioning activities, ensuring their full integration into the overall project schedule.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and maintain the commissioning schedule in coordination with package planners.
- Perform forecast updates, variance analysis and progress monitoring against the approved baseline schedule.
- Identify and accurately reflect schedule risks, reserves and contingencies.
- Establish a scheduling structure based on systems and subsystems.
- Review and challenge contractors’ and subcontractors’ pre-commissioning and commissioning schedules.
- Analyse and challenge durations, quantities, schedule logic and critical paths.
- Integrate yard activities, upstream interfaces, start-up and operations activities into the overall schedule.
- Prepare and update progress reports, planning KPIs and schedule performance analyses.
- Ensure that delays, variances and forecast changes are clearly explained and communicated to Project Management.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to planning digitalisation, efficiency and reporting improvements.
- Support invoice verification in accordance with contractual and project procedures.
- Demonstrate exemplary behaviour regarding HSSE, ethics and compliance requirements.
- Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in project controls and planning on major Oil & Gas projects.
- Significant experience focused on commissioning and start-up of large Oil & Gas plants.
- Strong knowledge of major Oil & Gas project developments, including interfaces with partners and governmental stakeholders.
- Proven expertise in planning, scheduling, progress measurement and critical path analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, Acumen Fuse, Microsoft Project, Milestones Pro, Thinkcell and Excel.
- Ability to work closely with Project Management, contractors, package teams, upstream and operations stakeholders.
- Strong organisational, analytical, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
- Fluent English is mandatory.
- Knowledge of French and/or Portuguese would be an advantage.
- Project: Major LNG development project.
- Location: Afungi, Mozambique, with missions to Milan during the early phase of the assignment.
- Rotation: 4x4.
- Start Date: September 2026.
- Mission Duration: 12 months.
