Westerman, Inc., an employee-owned company, is a multiple site manufacturer of production and storage equipment within the oil, gas, and nuclear industries. Our equipment helps optimize well pad design, improve separation efficiency and lower overall equipment spend through high-performance surface separation and processing technology. Our equipment is setting new standards for performance and economics nationwide.

SUMMARY

The Commodity Manager II is responsible for supporting the Vice President, Supply Chain, with the overall procurement process for designated commodities throughout all our locations. We are looking for an experienced Commodity Manager to take on a key role in developing and implementing Sourcing Strategies and Strategic agreements within the designated commodities (steel, fabrication, electrical instrumentation, etc.) that facilitate Lean procurement principles and optimize the capability, value, and flexibility of the Westerman supply chain. The Commodity Manager II is expected to mentor other Commodity Managers and purchasing personnel. You must be a results-driven individual with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, keen attention to detail, and can influence across the organization and the supply base with the desire to make a difference.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execution of sourcing strategies regarding quote turnaround timing, accuracy, and savings that meet or exceed organization requirements
  • Execution of input provided to estimating, engineering, operations, and procurement teams to leverage key supplier capabilities in product design, manufacture, test, cost reduction, lead time reduction and customer satisfaction
  • Compliance to product requirements, prompt resolution of supplier performance issues, and proactive feedback of potential issues that may impact customer delivery
  • Achievement of the negotiation and contract opportunities and long-term agreements, coordinating with all internal stakeholders involved in the process
  • Consistent communication with suppliers and internal customers
  • On time presentations to management
  • Mentor and trainer for other purchasing personnel
  • Other duties as required and assigned
