Commodity Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Purpose: Strategically manage commodities of goods purchased that are used to support manufacturing and assembly operations. Select suppliers that align well with the culture of TEAM Industries and provide exceptional service, delivery, and quality components at optimal value. Build supplier relationships that most effectively fulfill TEAM Industries’ overall business needs, while maintaining professional and ethical business practices.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follow all safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate commitment to safety program
• Select sources by conducting commodity surveys, interviews, supplier facility surveys and utilizing cross-functional teams, while meeting TEAM's Plant and Corporate sourcing initiatives
• Develop and present data to suppliers, internal customers, and other TEAM managers
• Negotiate and implement agreements, contracts, and purchase orders
• Develop, write, and implement annual SC Strategic Plans that support Plant Operations and Corporate objectives
• Identify leveraging opportunities for TEAM
• Facilitate cross-functional support for strategic sourcing decisions
• Ensure supplier compliance to TEAM and customer quality expectations (I.E. QS/ISO 9000, TS-16949, SQA Manuals, Customer specific, environmental, safety etc.)
• Communicate significant market shifts and supplier issues to all internal customers
• Recover supplier added costs, such as defects, warranty, and other damages
• Develop and maintain Commodity Strategies and Supplier Profiles
• Meet and/or exceed Corporate /Plant metric goals
• Monitor and improve supplier performance
• Develop Win-Win relationships based on a shared commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and total cost improvement
• Resolve supplier Defective Material Notice (DMR) and obtain cost recovery for supplier created problems
• Communicate changes in suppliers, market conditions, lead-times and other issues impacting plant operations. Publish reports as requested.
• Maintain accurate and updated records and files for products/services assigned.
• Demonstrate commitment to the TEAM Industries Quality Management System and Objectives
• Promote a positive atmosphere. Actively support activities that promote the welfare and morale of TEAM employees
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Minimum Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor Degree (4 years - Accredited College) - Technical or Business Degree preferred
• 3-5 years of Purchasing or Materials management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
