Responsible for developing the talking points or scripts for Field Operations Directorate (FOD) Chief of Staff, Communication Branch Chief and members of the FOD senior leadership to use in nationwide and workforce engagements.
Responsible for researching gathering, developing, and checking the accuracy of information from a wide range of sources related to the policies and mission of Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)/FOD.
Establish and maintain a communication tracking mechanism for the office that outlines the various FOD communications (e.g., strategic goals, policy and regulatory updates; employee engagement; and diversity, equity, and inclusion) and their stage
Responsible for technically proficient and strategic communications that align with leadership priorities and the USCIS mission.
Advise senior leadership about communications risk management and advocate for approaches that minimize agency communications risks.
Manage the strategic communications planning process for several FOD nationwide communication portfolios reflecting stakeholder, and mission organization needs.

Residency Requirement: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S. Federal or Military employee serving overseas. Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a probationary period of 1 year.
