  • Do you know how to translate technical, operational, and incident-related information into clear, effective messaging for clients and internal stakeholders?
  • Are you at your best when advising leaders, managing communications risk, and driving execution in a fast-moving environment?

Well, this may be the role for you. Ready to make your mark?

In this role, you will lead communications strategy across all Compliance Solutions (CoSo), shaping how critical client, associate, and business messages are developed, aligned, and delivered. This role supports communications across CoSo businesses, including Employment Tax, MasterTax, Payments and Compliance, Wage Garnishments, Health Care Reform, and Tax Credits. You will own the strategy, planning, and execution of communications that support business priorities, client experience, and high-visibility initiatives, including product updates, service updates, legislative updates, proactive outreach, and post-incident client communications. You will also play a key role in advising stakeholders, managing communications risk, and ensuring messaging aligns with ADP standards, approval paths, and business priorities.

The nature of what you do every day will not change, your focus will be setting the communications approach and driving execution for high-impact messaging across CoSo. Still, every day will look different. One day may center on leading communications and communication assets for a business unit. Another may involve leading communications for a high-visibility incident, partnering across product and service teams to translate complex operational details into clear, client-ready messaging. You will also shape strategic communications plans, advise stakeholders on messaging approach, and ensure execution aligns to business priorities, approval paths, and ADP standards. In addition, you will help drive proactive communications efforts such as newsletters, year-end preparation, legislative and service updates, and NPS survey deployment.

To thrive in this role, you need to operate as a senior individual contributor who can shape strategy, influence stakeholders, and step directly into execution when speed and volume demand it. You know how to simplify technical information, tailor messaging for different audiences, and maintain high standards for quality, tone, and accuracy. You bring executive presence and the judgment to advise senior leaders, navigate sensitive situations, and drive communications decisions with confidence and professionalism. You also work effectively across complex stakeholder groups, balancing competing priorities, managing risk in the messaging, and helping move critical communications forward at the right pace.

WHAT YOU'LL DO: Responsibilities

What you can expect on a typical day:

  • Own high-impact communications. You will lead the development and delivery of communications and communication assets in support of CoSo business units, ensuring messaging is clear, timely, audience-appropriate, and aligned with business priorities. This includes a mix of client-facing and internal communications, with the current workload weighted primarily toward client communications.
  • Lead post-incident communications. You will partner with product and service teams to assess incident context and translate complex information into clear, client-ready communications for sensitive and high-visibility situations. You will ensure messaging balances transparency and accountability while aligning with ADP language, branding, and approval requirements.
  • Set the communications approach for strategic initiatives. You will own communications strategy and execution for select initiatives, including message architecture, deployment planning, executive visibility, and risk escalation. You will also provide updates on status, progress, risks, and roadblocks.
  • Influence across stakeholders. You will partner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to align messaging, manage approvals, address communications risks, and support effective decision-making across complex business issues.
  • Drive proactive communications programs. You will support and evolve proactive communications efforts such as newsletters, year-end preparation, legislative and service updates, and NPS survey deployment.
  • Support team execution and operating rhythm. You will work closely with other members of the communications team to help ensure service expectations are met, work is balanced appropriately, and backup coverage is available when needed.
