Communications Manager, Defence - Aarhus, Denmark
Description
Communications Manager, Defence - Aarhus, Denmark
Do you want to shape how Systematic is seen across the Nordic defence sector, as the thought leader behind C5ISR software that supports allied forces every day? As our new Communications Manager, you will drive external communications for Systematic Defence in the Nordics working closely with international colleagues and taking real ownership of our story, from breaking news to speaker platforms.
The job
As Communications Manager, you will turn complex defence technology, customer developments and industry trends into clear, relevant stories for Nordic audiences. Working across Defence, Sales, Product Management and the international MarCom organisation, you will identify strong angles, engage subject-matter experts and take stories from idea to publication. You will also build trusted media relationships and help position Systematic and the SitaWare suite as an authoritative voice within C5ISR.
Some of your key tasks will be to:
- create content for media outlets and Systematic's own channels
- engage with internal and external sources and stakeholders to uncover and shape stories that position Systematic as a thought leader in C5ISR
- drive communication efforts around tradeshows and events, working closely with our international offices — particularly our Danish offices
- translate relevant international stories into Danish content
- support the wider positioning of Systematic and SitaWare across the Nordics
Expect around 30+ days of travel a year to Systematic offices, tradeshows and events.
Joining the team
You will join a collaborative Defence MarCom team of seven colleagues based across Aarhus, Cologne, Washington and Farnborough. Although we work across locations, we stay closely connected through daily collaboration on Teams and come together in person every six to eight weeks. You will also work closely with colleagues across Systematic Defence, bringing different perspectives and specialist expertise together to strengthen our position within C5ISR. Here, you will have the freedom to take ownership of your own stories and projects, while benefiting from the ideas, support and experience of an international, multi-skilled team.
What you bring
You bring at least eight years of relevant communications experience and a professional background in journalism, communications or marketing. You are an accomplished storyteller who can turn complex subject matter into clear, engaging content for different audiences and channels.
We are also looking for:
- experience working with Umbraco or another content management system
- familiarity with HubSpot or a similar marketing platform
- native-level Danish and fluency in written and spoken English
- independent, proactive and structured workstyle, combined with a collaborative mindset and the confidence to engage colleagues, subject-matter experts, journalists and other external stakeholders
- experience working in central government, the defence or technology sector would be an advantage
Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years, as we work with security-classified projects. Read more here.
