Communications Manager

As a key member of the marketing team, you will take strategic ownership of Helvar's internal and external communications. This is a critical role designed to ensure our messaging and communication style remain structured, aligned, and consistent - whether directed internally to the wider business, cross-functionally between teams, or externally to the outside world. Your primary focus will be to define and execute a cohesive communications strategy that unifies our corporate voice. You will manage and/or oversee all facets of marketing communications, encompassing customer communications, press & public relations, news & announcements, partner channel communications, internal comms, employer branding and oversight of the wider Helvar communications calendar. This role will help to translate the leadership vision and company strategy into clear, consistent messaging for the wider business.

Responsibilities

External Communications & PR

  • Lead the planning and execution of the integrated communications calendar, aligning messaging across campaigns, channels, and key business priorities.
  • Oversee external corporate communications, writing and distributing press releases, managing media inquiries, and building relationships with industry publications.
  • Manage and standardise communications for the global partner network, ensuring distributors and channel partners receive consistent, structured updates regarding product launches and corporate news.

Strategy & Operations

  • Develop and own the comprehensive communications framework that standardises tone of voice, terminology, and formatting across all internal and external channels.
  • Drive governance in AI-driven communications tools (e.g. Synthesia) to ensure clear guidelines are followed across AI-generated content, and alignment with Helvar’s brand, tone of voice and quality standards.
  • Monitor and manage shared communication hubs and public-facing mailboxes to ensure timely, aligned, and professional responses.
  • Oversee our communications platform, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, to ensure distribution, automation, and engagement tracking of widespread communications campaigns as a holistic machine.
  • Collaborate with the wider global marketing team to ensure communications are seamlessly integrated into product launches, segment campaigns, and demand generation activities.

Internal Communications

  • Work with the HR team to develop and co-execute a comprehensive employer branding strategy to position Helvar as an employer of choice, managing content for the careers site, LinkedIn, and recruitment marketing campaigns.
  • Supporting and executing key leadership communications, including strategic updates, company announcements and intra-company communications across the wider business.
  • Manage the internal promotion and communications lifecycle for company-wide initiatives, such as global commercial team awards, multi-region hackathons, and town hall meetings.
  • Partner with and support HR during periods of organisational change, ensuring policy updates, restructuring, and new initiatives are communicated with clarity and empathy.
  • Partner with HR to standardise the communications journey for employees, from welcome packs and onboarding pathways to offboarding procedures.
  • Design and distribute regular internal newsletters, manage the company intranet, and conduct regular pulse surveys to measure and improve internal communication effectiveness.
  • Develop communication toolkits and guidance for managers and leaders to support the effective delivery of key organisational messages and change initiatives.
  • Ensure Helvar’s core values are consistently interwoven into internal messaging, recognising and championing employee achievements across the organisation.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Finnish and English is essential.
  • Fluency in Swedish is highly desired.
  • Extensive, proven experience managing complex corporate communications, encompassing both internal (HR/Executive) and external (PR/Media) channels.
  • Exceptional copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills, with a meticulous eye for detail and brand consistency.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule, committing to 3 days per week in the Espoo HQ.
  • Ability to travel internationally for short periods at a time, when required.
