JOB SUMMARY
The Communications Officer (Chinese Communications & Digital Engagement)supports the University's Chinese-language communications and digital engagement initiatives for alumni. The role is responsible for developing, translating and adapting content, managing Chinese digital communication channels, monitoring audience engagement and recommending content strategies to strengthen connections with alumni, particularly in China.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Develop, translate and adapt English communications into engaging Chinese content tailored for different audiences.
- Plan, write and produce the Chinese monthly alumni e-newsletter.
- Create and manage Chinese content across digital platforms, including the website, email, WeChat and Xiaohongshu.
- Manage the University's presence on Chinese digital platforms, including content planning, publishing schedules and platform administration.
- Monitor engagement and performance across Chinese digital channels, analyse audience insights and recommend strategies to improve reach, engagement and community growth.
- Keep abreast of trends, features and best practices on Chinese social media platforms, and propose creative content ideas and campaigns.
- Edit and proofread Chinese communication materials to ensure accuracy, consistency and quality.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather content and ensure timely delivery of communications.
- Support communications for alumni events, including invitations, promotional materials and post-event stories.
- Maintain consistency in tone, style and brand identity across all Chinese communications.
- Support other communications and administrative duties as assigned.
JOBREQUIREMENTS
- Excellent written Chinese with strong translation, writing and editing skills.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Experience incorporate communications, content marketing or digital communications.
- Experience managingChinese digital platforms such as WeChat and Xiaohongshu.
- Good understanding of China's digital ecosystem, social media trends and audience behaviour.
- Experience monitoring analytics and using engagement data to improve content performance.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
WORKING HOURS
- Mondays Wednesday and Thursdays: 8:30am to 5:45pm, inclusive of 45min lunch break
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
