Community & Events Manager
Posted
Description
Love bringing ambitious ideas to life? At Virgin Unite, we're looking for a Community & Events Manager to help bring our extraordinary gatherings to life. From intimate leadership gatherings to philanthropic events around the world, you'll be the person making the magic happen, both behind the scenes and front and center. And the best bit? You'll be creating experiences that bring changemakers together to tackle some of the world's biggest challenges.
- Bring extraordinary gatherings to life. Take the lead on planning and delivering philanthropic events, leadership gatherings and multi-day experiences. From the first big idea to the final guest departure, you'll help make every moment count.
- Make the details count. Own the logistics, budgets, timelines, guest lists, travel arrangements and everything in between. You'll juggle multiple events, keep things running like clockwork and make sure nothing slips through the cracks.
- Make every guest feel like a VIP. From CEOs and philanthropists to inspiring changemakers, you'll confidently welcome and engage with high-profile guests, creating thoughtful, personal experiences that leave a lasting impression.
- Bring our partners along for the ride. Work closely with external organizations to plan and deliver collaborative gatherings, building brilliant relationships, keeping everyone aligned and making sure shared ambitions turn into exceptional experiences.
- Build connections that go beyond the event. Help grow and nurture our global community, keeping relationships warm, encouraging participation and finding opportunities to bring people together for meaningful action.
- Help turn purpose into impact. Support guest recruitment, outreach and fundraising opportunities, bringing a commercial mindset to our gatherings while keeping social impact at the heart of everything we do.
- Think on your feet and get stuck in. Whether you're managing an unexpected last-minute change, briefing a speaker, coordinating suppliers or welcoming a room full of influential leaders, you'll be ready to roll up your sleeves and make it happen.
- Events are your thing. You've got hands-on experience managing events from start to finish, ideally including complex, multi-day gatherings or experiences. You genuinely love the buzz of events and everything that goes into making them brilliant.
- You're a natural organizer. Exceptional project management skills, an eye for the smallest details and the ability to keep multiple moving parts on track.
- You've got presence and people skills. You're warm, personable and confident building relationships with everyone from external partners to senior business leaders and high-profile guests. You can hold your own in a room full of influential people while making everyone feel at ease.
- You're a brilliant relationship builder. You know how to bring people together, manage partnerships and have the confidence to support guest outreach, recruitment and commercial conversations.
- You keep your cool when things heat up. You're proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused, with the judgment to handle sensitive situations, anticipate challenges and make things happen when plans inevitably change.
- You care about making a difference. You've got a genuine interest in philanthropy, social impact and the issues shaping our world. You don't need to be an expert, but you're curious, engaged and excited about using the power of people and business to create positive change. Experience in the social impact sector, fundraising or community engagement would be a bonus.
