Govern & report — embed CI performance into Monthly Business Review and Quarterly Business Review forums and leadership communications

Set the strategy — shape the multi-year strategy for Community Impact excellence and standards

Key job responsibilities
Strategy — Own and drive the multi-year strategy for Community Impact excellence and standards: define the vision, the roadmap to scale consistency and quality across all five pillars and 26 countries, and the long-term path to a world-class CI operating model.

Standards, Policy & Process — Define and own the GPO CI standards, policy, and process across all five pillars; embed CI requirements into GPO's procurement processes so impact activity is a defined, consistent step across every country rather than ad-hoc and local.

Regulations & Compliance — Own CI regulatory alignment and compliance across all 26 countries; maintain vetting and eligibility standards for NGOs, charities, suppliers, and partners with documented, auditable approval gates so CI activity routes through a compliant, risk-screened pathway.

Execution Excellence (incl. Waste to Worth & Donations) — Ensure quality and consistency of CI program execution across pillars and countries. Within this, lead GPO CI procurement donations (not supplier donations) end-to-end to a $10M 2027 target, and execute the Waste to Worth standard operating procedure (surplus and non-inventory product donations) globally.

Governance & Communication — Own the CI governance cadence: embed CI performance, standards, and compliance into Monthly Business Review and Quarterly Business Review forums, and run the communication plan that keeps Global Procurement Sustainability leadership, GPO leadership, and country stakeholders aligned on CI strategy and targets.

A day in the life
The Community Impact Excellence & Standards role is the owner of excellence, standards, and governance for the full GPO Community Impact (CI) team. The role brings strategy, policy, standards, regulatory, compliance, execution, and governance discipline across all five CI pillars: Supplier for Good, Procurement for Good, Waste to Worth, Space for Good / GPO Donation Hubs, and IDonate — globally across 26 countries.

This role makes CI consistent, compliant, measurable, and world-class: setting the standards and standard operating procedures that define how CI is executed everywhere, ensuring regulatory and recipient/partner compliance, raising execution quality, and building the governance and reporting that make CI impact visible to leadership.

Within this remit, the role also leads and owns GPO CI procurement donations end-to-end — not supplier donations — globally across 26 countries, including the Waste to Worth standard operating procedure and its execution, with a target of $10M in donations for 2027. Donations and Waste to Worth are a flagship execution stream inside the broader excellence-and-standards mandate.

The outcome is a Community Impact function that is standardized, compliant by design, regulation-aligned, executed to target, and measurable — and able to demonstrate the link between procurement activity and community sentiment toward Amazon, and ultimately the Profit & Loss
