Summary

Support adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities in community-based programs, helping them access resources, education, and social opportunities through 1:1 coaching and public transit.

Compensation: Starting pay between $23-25 per hour

Schedule: Mon-Fri between 8 AM-1 PM

Location: Chula Vista and surrounding area

Community Interface Services is seeking a compassionate and flexible individual to work alongside individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities and support them in building independence within their communities.

We are a nonprofit organization that has empowered adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1983. Our mission is to provide quality, individualized, community-based support and training in employment, housing, community living, and other related services.

Key Responsibilities

As a Community Inclusion Professional, your day is comprised of appointments with participants of our Tailored Day services. You will meet with each person in a 1-to-1 ratio and provide resources or coaching to help them reach their goals. The average day could look like:

  • Traversing the community through public transportation
  • Support the individual in finding social, recreational, or volunteer opportunities
  • Providing higher education support
  • Document progress of each individual
  • Work with the larger team to identify next steps

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful at our nonprofit, you'll need to possess a unique set of skills and qualities: exceptional customer service skills resourcefulness, and teaching skills. You will need to have a car in safe working order, vehicle insurance, a valid CA driver's license, and at least 2 years of driving experience. A high school diploma is required for this position, with a bachelor's degree preferred. Another plus is having experience with the I/DD community!
