Lead Change. Shape Places. Improve Lives.
Are you an inspiring leader who is passionate about communities, partnership working and tackling inequality?
Fife Council is seeking an exceptional Community Manager (Area) to provide strategic place leadership across the communities of South and West Fife. This is a unique opportunity to shape local priorities, influence service delivery, develop partnerships and empower communities to achieve better outcomes.
You will work at the heart of local community planning, bringing together residents, councillors, partner organisations and council services to deliver meaningful change and create thriving, resilient places.
This is far more than a service management position. As Community Manager, you will be the Council's leading advocate for place-based working within South and West Fife, helping communities shape their future and influencing how services are designed and delivered.
You Will: -
Provide strategic leadership for local community planning, ensuring local priorities are translated into action and measurable outcomes.
Lead and coordinate partnerships across public, voluntary, community and private sectors to maximise community benefit and improve quality of life.
Champion a collaborative "One Council" approach, connecting services and partners around shared ambitions for people and place.
Support communities to build capacity, strengthen resilience and address the causes of inequality and disadvantage.
Act as Lead Officer to the Area Committee, working closely with elected members and facilitating strong local democratic engagement.
Lead local investment decisions, including Community Planning budgets, anti-poverty funding and community grant programmes.
Drive innovation, continuous improvement and partnership-led solutions that deliver better outcomes for local people.
The Person
We are looking for a confident and politically aware leader who can build trust, influence across organisational boundaries and inspire collective action.
A degree (SCQF Level 9) or equivalent professional experience.
Strong knowledge of community planning and place-based approaches.
Significant experience of partnership working across public, voluntary and community sectors.
Proven leadership experience, including developing teams and leading organisational change.
Experience of working with elected members and navigating complex political environments.
Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
The ability to think strategically while delivering practical solutions that make a difference locally.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of communities across Fife.
You will work with committed colleagues, community leaders, elected members and partners to:
Deliver local priorities through community planning.
Reduce inequalities and improve wellbeing.
Strengthen community capacity and resilience.
Influence policy and service transformation.
Create lasting impact in places and neighbourhoods.
If you are motivated by collaboration, community empowerment and the opportunity to lead place-based change, we would love to hear from you.
Join us and help create stronger communities, better outcomes and a fairer future for Fife.
