Community Marketing Manager
The Opportunity
Iru is hiring a Community Marketing Manager to build and lead the communities that connect us to the people who do IT and security work every day. We're looking for someone who can think, build, and own community as a real driver of how people discover and trust Iru.
This is a community-first role, and it's built for someone who thinks like a founder of the spaces they run. You'll create real gathering places for IT and security practitioners: a private community where they share knowledge and connect with each other and with Iru, and an authentic presence in the public spaces where they already are, from Reddit to the social channels that matter to this audience.
It's also a deeply creative role. We want someone who generates original ideas and who understands brand well enough to make it come alive across very different channels without ever feeling copy-pasted. You'll create, publish, engage, and build: always in service of community and brand.
You're already deep in online communities. You understand how IT and security practitioners talk, what they care about, and what makes them tune out the moment something feels like marketing.
Must be able to work Tuesday through Thursday onsite in our Coral Gables office.
What You'll Do
Build and grow community
-
Launch and lead Iru's private community for IT and security practitioners: define the structure, seed the first conversations, recruit founding members, and establish the norms and culture that make it worth showing up to
-
Build a genuine, valued presence in the public communities where this audience lives: Reddit, LinkedIn, Meta, TikTok, and beyond
-
Design programming that keeps people coming back: AMAs, discussions, member spotlights, resource sharing, and formats no one's tried yet
-
Own community health end to end — growth, engagement, retention, and the quality of participation — and use what you learn to make the community better
Brand and original thinking
-
Come up with the ideas: campaigns, moments, and creative concepts that earn attention because they're genuinely good, not because they're boosted
-
Create a distribution engine for social content with the ambassadors and fans that fuel organic traction
-
Create and publish content across channels that carries the brand and resonates with a technical audience, partnering with the creative team on assets when a concept calls for it
-
Keep our voice consistent and distinctive everywhere we appear, so the brand feels like one thing across many places
Cross-functional
-
Amplify product launches, research, and campaigns in ways that feel native
-
Surface insights from community conversations that sharpen our product and messaging
-
Partner across marketing to keep everything Iru puts into the world coherent and on-brand
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years building or growing online communities and brand presence, ideally in B2B SaaS or a technical product company
-
A track record of building community from an early or zero stage — not just moderating one that already existed
-
Genuine familiarity with IT or security audiences. You don't need to be an engineer, but you need to understand how these people think and what earns their respect.
-
A creative engine. You bring original ideas and can point to things you made that people actually cared about.
-
A real feel for brand — how it's built, why it matters, and how to make it tangible across very different channels
-
Strong writing across contexts: a Reddit comment, a community post, and a LinkedIn update should each feel right for where they live
-
Self-directed and energized by operating without a playbook — you'd rather write the playbook
Nice to Have
- Experience standing up a private community platform (Slack, Circle, Discord, or similar) from scratch
-
An active, credible presence in IT, cybersecurity, or related online communities
-
Comfort using social and community tooling, without treating the tool as the job
-
Experience in cybersecurity or enterprise SaaS
