Description
Who we are:
The Domain Companies is a national real estate development and investment firm focused on making a positive and lasting social, economic, and physical impact on the communities in which we build. Domain is responsible for a diverse range of innovative projects including affordable, mixed-income and luxury apartments, condominiums, hospitality, retail, entertainment venues, and creative workspace.
The Shop Workspace is Domain's hospitality-first coworking brand, with locations in Salt Lake City, New Orleans and Brooklyn. Our success is a result of our community-focused approach, collective entrepreneurial spirit, and the unique skills and experience of our people.
The role:
The Community Specialist is the face of The Shop Workspace and the person who makes the space run well every day. You own the in-person experience: how the space looks, how members are welcomed, how tours feel, and how events come together.
You report to the Community Manager at The Shop Workspace. You also work closely with our portfolio Operations Manager, who sets operating standards across all locations, and our portfolio Sales Manager, who owns the sales pipeline. Your job is to deliver on both, on the ground.
Who you are:
You are a warm, organized, highly hospitable person who notices what members need before they ask. You have a contagiously good attitude and real attention to detail. You are comfortable following defined processes and you take initiative when something needs fixing. As part of a small team, you are reliable, flexible and committed to The Shop's success.
What you'll be doing:
Member experience and hospitality

- Serve as the first point of contact for member questions and requests, resolving what you can and routing the rest
- Run move-ins, move-outs, member orientation and new member onboarding
- Know members by name and share what you hear with the Community Manager and leadership team
Space and operations
- Maintain the space, equipment and amenities to the highest standard at all times
- Complete daily opening, closing and walkthrough checklists to The Shop's operating standards
- Track and restock inventory for kitchens, markets and supplies
- Report maintenance and vendor issues promptly and coordinate on-site access for vendors and technicians
- Support the maintenance of building and operational documents
Sales support
- Conduct in-person tours and trial days that show The Shop at its best
- Log tour notes and visitor details in HubSpot so the sales team can follow up
- Pass along warm leads, referrals and member expansion signals as you hear them
Events and bookings
- Prepare conference rooms and event spaces for scheduled member and non-member bookings
- Set up, host and break down member programming and events
- Support third-party event rentals on the day of the event
Skills, experience and qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in hospitality, coworking, customer service or events
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask with constant interruptions while keeping the details right
- Comfortable with technology; experience with HubSpot or coworking software a plus
- Warm, professional, personable and approachable
- Penchant for organization, hospitality and defined processes
- Self-starter who can work independently on site
- Relentless approach to problem solving and an eye for detail

- The role may require working across multiple Shop locations within your market. This is a regular part of the role in New Orleans and Brooklyn and may apply in Salt Lake City as new locations open in the region.
