Community Support Site Liaison

1. Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members when it comes to desired staff behaviors; promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job-related functions.

2. Develops, manages and evaluates the Community Support Site therapy program while ensuring that we are meeting the needs of those we serve.

3. Reviews speech therapy schedules to ensure accurate and complete information is provided and maintains each child’s record with updated therapy notes, necessary documentation, and ensures all records are kept in a secure manner.

4. Communicates with the Family Resource Coordinator in regard to scheduling, notes, questions, or if a family has determined that they would no longer like to participate in therapy.

5. Works closely with contracted speech therapists to make sure they are aware of any schedule or room changes and problem solves when issues arise with each therapist.

6. Contact families if they are not at the site at the scheduled time to find out if they need assistance.

7. Greets children and families at therapy locations, in a professional and friendly manner, provides appointment reminders at each session, and keeps accurate records of appointment and attendance of children and families.

8. Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth. Participates in required abuse risk management training. Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors. Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements. Adheres to job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

9. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and viewpoints from all social and economic segments of the organization and community. A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism is expected from our staff

  • Associate’s degree and/or equivalent experience in a related area, and experience working with diverse individuals; including those who are in crisis, have disabilities and/or special health care needs, and are from diverse cultures.
  • Passionate belief in the Y’s cause of nurturing the potential of all youth, supporting healthy living for all people, and finding ways to help and support our neighbors.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative team approach to solving challenging situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, data entry, and other technology.
  • Must have customer service skills.
  • A strong ability to multitask.
