Our Client:

Our client is a leading financial services firm with presence across ASIA, and they are seeking a Compliance, Assistant Manager (Due Diligence) to support the end-to-end due diligence activities for its Business Partners across Singapore. The role will work closely with the Hong Kong-based Due Diligence Manager and regional compliance team, ensuring that due diligence processes are completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with Group policies and Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) regulatory expectations. The position will cover the full Business Partner lifecycle, including onboarding, periodic reviews, ongoing monitoring and offboarding, with a particular focus on KYC and World-Check screening.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support the end-to-end due diligence lifecycle for Business Partners, including insurance companies, banks, referral partners and other relevant counterparties.
  • Conduct KYC and due diligence assessments during the onboarding of new Business Partners, ensuring required information and supporting documentation are complete and appropriately verified.
  • Perform periodic and risk-based reviews of existing Business Partners, identifying changes in ownership, business activities, regulatory status or other potential risk indicators.
  • Carry out ongoing KYC, sanctions and World-Check screening on Business Partners and relevant clients, escalating potential matches or adverse findings for further review.
  • Support the offboarding and termination review process, ensuring appropriate due diligence and documentation are completed before relationships are formally closed.
  • Assess and investigate potential AML, sanctions, reputational and regulatory risks, escalating higher-risk cases in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date due diligence records, KYC documentation, screening results and review outcomes.
  • Ensure all due diligence activities are completed within established service timelines, risk standards and Group policies.
  • Work closely with the Hong Kong Head Office due diligence team to ensure consistent application of Group-wide standards, procedures and risk methodologies.
  • Provide compliance and due diligence support to internal stakeholders when reviewing or establishing relationships with new or existing Business Partners.
  • Assist with regulatory reviews, compliance monitoring and audit requests, including the preparation and retrieval of relevant due diligence documentation.
  • Monitor changes in MAS regulations, AML/KYC requirements and sanctions-related expectations, supporting updates to internal processes where required.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of due diligence procedures, controls, workflows and documentation standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Law, Compliance, Risk Management or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in due diligence, KYC, AML, compliance, client onboarding, financial crime or regulatory risk.
  • Experience working with banks, insurance companies, financial institutions, payment companies or other regulated businesses is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of KYC, AML/CFT, sanctions screening, beneficial ownership and customer/business partner due diligence.
  • Practical knowledge of MAS regulatory requirements and Singapore's financial services regulatory environment.
  • Experience using World-Check or similar screening and due diligence platforms.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to assess information, identify risk indicators and make appropriate escalations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple due diligence reviews and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly when working with regional and cross-border teams.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with a Hong Kong-based regional due diligence function.
  • Proficient in using compliance software and tools (e.g., World-Check).
  • Candidates with CAMS, ICA or other relevant compliance/AML certifications will be advantageous.
