Position Summary
The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the bank’s compliance with all federal and state laws pertaining to lending and deposits. This role develops and updates policies and procedures, oversees compliance-related staff, and serves as a key resource for regulatory and industry updates.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating, reviewing, and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with lending and deposit regulations
- Managing the bank’s compliance program, including complaint management, policy review, and regulatory exam preparation
- Conduct and manage regular risk assessments to identify areas of vulnerability regarding regulations and internal policies
- Ensures accurate collection, analysis, and timely submission of Home Mortgage Act Disclosure (HMDA) reporting
- Coordinating with legal counsel and bank leadership on new or revised products and services
- Providing training, guidance, and support to staff on compliance matters
- Supervising the Bank Secrecy Act Officer, Loan Audit Specialist, and Compliance/Fraud Specialist
- Participating in key committees including Enterprise Risk Management, Audit/Legal/Compliance, Product Innovation, Business Continuity, and Incident Response
- Interpret and disseminate information on regulatory/compliance matters
- Maintain education and professional expertise through attendance at professional seminars, conferences and workshops
