Compliance Officer
You will act as an independent second line of defence, developing and maintaining a robust compliance monitoring programme aligned with BaFin and EU regulatory expectations. You will be the primary contact for regulatory authorities, manage regulatory submissions and reporting, perform compliance risk assessments, identify and escalate breaches, oversee corrective actions, draft and maintain compliance policies, prepare Board reports, and deliver training to raise regulatory awareness. You will exercise sound judgement, provide counsel to senior leadership, and ensure accurate documentation of compliance activities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a compliance monitoring programme
- Manage regulatory and governance interactions with BaFin
- Identify and escalate compliance breaches
- Oversee corrective actions and compliance risk assessments
- Draft and maintain compliance policies and reports
- Prepare and deliver Board reports on compliance risks
- Lead and deliver regulatory training
- Promote integrity and an ethical compliance culture
Requirements
- Degree in Law, Finance, Business, or related field
- Proven experience in compliance within financial services, fintech, or crypto
- Deep understanding of BaFin rulebooks and EU regulations (KWG, MaRisk, MiCAR)
- Ability to operate independently and provide decisive counsel to senior leadership
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
