About the role
As a Compliance Officer, you'll be responsible for supporting and maintaining food safety, quality, compliance, and environmental management systems across the Distribution Centre. You'll provide technical expertise, lead audits, investigate customer complaints, deliver training, and drive initiatives that ensure our products and operations meet both company and external standards.

This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to collaborate with multiple stakeholders while making a tangible impact on product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Support compliance with Sanitarium's food safety, quality, legal, and customer requirements.
Develop, review, and maintain procedures, work instructions, forms, and compliance documentation.
Plan and conduct internal food safety and compliance audits.
Coordinate corrective actions arising from audit findings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead and maintain HACCP programmes and prerequisite systems.
Support Good Warehousing Practice (GWP) compliance through monitoring, auditing, and reporting.
Investigate customer complaints and identify opportunities to reduce complaint trends.
Support the Technical Team to ensure products meet defined specifications.
Represent Sanitarium during external audits and inspections.
Support environmental management initiatives and site compliance requirements.
Assist with contractor management, visitor inductions, and facilities compliance activities.

About You
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

Previous experience in food safety, quality, compliance, or a related technical role.
Knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, quality systems, and compliance requirements.
Experience within a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or FMCG environment will be highly regarded.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Experience developing policies, procedures, or standard operating procedures.
Confidence delivering training and building relationships across a range of stakeholder groups.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good computer literacy, including Microsoft 365 applications.
A proactive, customer-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
