About The Role

Verifone is looking for a professional to join the Verifone Global Compliance team to fulfil the role of Compliance Officer, with a focus on ESG and Product Compliance, based in Amsterdam (Hybrid). The position will report directly to the Global Compliance Director.

We are looking for the right combination of compliance, governance and strategic oversight, combined with an action-driven and motivated approach towards further building and shaping the compliance framework of a renowned and established company with global operations, a strong payments presence in EMEA, and a worldwide POS device manufacturing and distribution footprint.

This role sits at the core of Verifone's Global Compliance function, where the successful candidate will manage the ESG and Product Compliance Programs, provide second-line support across the wider compliance framework, and advise the business on relevant regulatory items affecting Verifone Group entities as well as outsourced compliance and risk activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance for the Verifone Group entities as well as the oversight of the outsourced compliance and risk activities
  • Provide advice to the company on relevant regulatory items
  • Manage the ESG and the Product Compliance Programs within Verifone
  • Educate and coach staff within the Verifone Group on best practices around compliance
  • Focus is on:
    • ESG and sustainability reporting (CSRD / ESRS, TCFD, Modern Slavery Acts, mandatory reporting to Verifone jurisdictions, e.g. ESOS/UK)
    • Product compliance for the POS device portfolio (CE / UKCA / FCC marking, RED, LVD, EMC, RoHS, EMVCo, EU WEEE, EU Battery Regulation, EU Conflict Minerals Regulation, ESPR / Digital Product Passport)
    • Supply chain due diligence
    • Second-line support across the wider compliance framework, including AML / CTF, ABAC, Whistleblowing, Sanctions, as required by the team
  • Maintain the integrity risk analysis and other risk registers applicable to the business
  • Ongoing maintenance of the policy house
  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of requirements for sustainability assessments in which Verifone Group participates on an annual basis

Skills and Experience Needed

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in compliance
  • Ideally 2-3 years with a law firm, consulting or in-house experience
  • Experience with a regulated manufacturing or hardware environment
  • Governance & strategic expertise
  • Demonstrated expertise and familiarity with the regulatory framework on ESG, sustainability reporting and product compliance
  • Highly analytical with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality of work
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, depending on the situation
  • Ability to effectively train and present information to regulators and/or Verifone Group Senior Leadership

Desirable

  • Bachelor's degree in law, environmental science, engineering or a related discipline
  • Relevant professional certification (IEMA, GRI, CDP, ACAMS or equivalent)
