Compliance Specialist

In this position, you'll collaborate with leadership, clinical teams, and quality professionals to promote compliance, strengthen documentation practices, monitor regulatory requirements, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. What You'll Do:

  • Conduct compliance audits and reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, contracts, and organizational policies.
  • Monitor compliance trends, analyze findings, and provide recommendations that support quality improvement and operational excellence.
  • Serve as a resource on documentation integrity by providing guidance, training, and support to staff on compliance and record-keeping standards.
  • Review and process HIPAA-compliant record release requests and maintain documentation according to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with leadership and quality teams to implement corrective action plans, support regulatory readiness, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field preferred; equivalent combinations of education and relevant healthcare, behavioral health, compliance, or quality experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in compliance, auditing, quality assurance, clinical documentation review, or a related role within healthcare or behavioral health.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance standards, documentation requirements, and quality improvement practices, with experience reviewing records for accuracy and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and a behavioral health background are preferred.
