CNC Turning Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Turning Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain CNC turning and lathe machines for the production of precision-engineered components. The successful candidate must have hands-on experience in CNC turning operations, FANUC control programming, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and meet specified dimensional tolerances and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC turning and lathe machines, including installing chucks, tool holders, cutting tools, and fixtures.

• Perform CNC programming using FANUC control systems and make necessary program adjustments to meet production requirements.

• Load raw materials, conduct trial runs, and operate production cycles for turning, facing, boring, threading, and other machining operations.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine machining requirements.

• Adjust tool offsets, cutting speeds, feeds, and machine settings to achieve the required dimensions and surface finish.

• Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments, including vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

• Identify machining defects, troubleshoot operational issues, and carry out corrective adjustments to maintain product quality.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and ensure CNC machines and tools are maintained in good working condition.

• Maintain accurate production and inspection records while ensuring compliance with workplace safety procedures and quality standards.
  

  Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant hands-on experience in CNC turning and lathe machine operations.

  • Experience in FANUC control programming is required.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

  • Knowledge of machining processes, precision measurement, dimensional tolerances, and quality inspection.

  • Relevant vocational certification or an equivalent mechanical engineering background.

  • Good technical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
