Computer Vision Scientist

Summary

Develop and refine computer vision models for industrial applications, combining deep learning and classical techniques to solve real-world problems in areas like object detection, 3D reconstruction, and sensor fusion.

Aicadium is searching for a CV Scientist who is passionate about AI & Machine Learning in the computer vision space, to join our team and help lead Aicadium into new growth areas.

We seek high-energy team members with a positive attitude and a continual drive to learn and grow both professionally and personally.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage hands-on experience in modeling to use, improve, fine-tune, and customise computer vision (CV) models, spanning both deep learning approaches (e.g. object detection, tracking, segmentation, visual embeddings) and classical techniques (e.g. multi-view geometry, camera calibration, feature extraction and matching).
  • Design and implement geometric vision solutions where deep learning alone is insufficient — including 3D reconstruction, pose estimation, stereo vision, and structure-from-motion.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data-gathering techniques. Apply expertise in working with images, video, 3D data, and sensor fusion for custom ML solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and SOTA in computer vision.
  • Enable new capabilities for Aicadium products and tools in the industrial computer vision (ICV) ML domain.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions.
  • Address unsolved problems in ICV.

Required skills and experience

  • Strong foundation in classical computer vision, including multi-view geometry, camera models and calibration, epipolar geometry, and image processing fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning for CV, including object detection, object tracking, semantic/instance segmentation, and the use of visual embeddings for retrieval or matching tasks.
  • Experience in data curation, model training, and customisation for solving real-world CV challenges.
  • Proven experience building, optimizing, and deploying scalable, production-grade computer vision pipelines.
  • Excellent proficiency in Python for CV and ML, and familiarity with common frameworks and libraries (e.g. PyTorch, OpenCV).
  • 3+ years of full-time experience in CV and ML.
  • Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent teamwork spirit and written and verbal communication skills.
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and with team members from different backgrounds.
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in STEM+ area.
  • Applicants must already have the legal right to work in Singapore. We are unable to provide work pass sponsorship for this position.

Good to have

  • Experience with multimodal models and vision-language modeling.
  • Exposure to VR/AR applications or multimodal data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with SLAM, visual odometry, or real-time 3D perception systems.
  • Strong work and publication record in the CV/ML domain.
