Configuration Analyst

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a curious and adaptable professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and supporting the effective use of technology. As a Configuration Analyst, you will work closely with clients and technical teams to support business applications, investigate issues, implement enhancements, and help deliver solutions that improve ministry programs and services. This role offers a diverse mix of application support, business analysis, configuration, project coordination, and client engagement, providing opportunities to contribute to meaningful outcomes across the organization.

  • Provide business analysis and consulting services to improve business and system processes and support clients in adapting to change.
  • Analyze application systems and business processes to identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Research best practices, assess risks and opportunities, analyze benefits, and recommend strategic business solutions.
  • Participate in technology planning sessions; document business needs; develop business cases, including technology options and cost estimates; translate business requirements into technical specifications for internal and external partners; and support clients in preparing submissions for senior management.
  • Manage business application development initiatives by applying systems development methodologies, monitoring schedules, deliverables, and resources, and adjusting to meet project objectives.
  • Identify data and information requirements; research ministry and industry practices; and recommend system or process changes as client needs and technologies evolve.
  • Develop and update policies, standards, and related documentation for IT application changes; secure necessary approvals; provide training; and offer ongoing guidance to clients.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application, data, and process issues by analyzing system behaviour, identifying root causes, and coordinating corrective actions with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between business units, technology teams, support teams, and external stakeholders; deliver user training; create procedural documentation; and provide ongoing support to address system issues.
  • Conduct user access reviews and support application security and governance activities to ensure appropriate access controls and protection of information assets.
  • Monitor data quality, perform analysis, and support reporting activities to ensure information is accurate, reliable, and available for operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Configure and maintain business applications, including workflows, permissions, forms, business rules, and other system settings to support evolving business requirements.
  • Develop test plans, coordinate testing activities, and support implementation of application changes to ensure solutions meet business requirements.

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience configuring and supporting enterprise applications such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Power Platform, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with business analysis and business process improvement methodologies and techniques.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, including requirements management, testing, and release management.
  • Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) practices, including incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Knowledge of application security, user access management, and governance practices.
  • Knowledge of organizational change management, user adoption, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, practices, and tools.
