Configuration Technician II

The Configuration Technician II is responsible for both internal and external facing responsibilities. In this position, you will be a critical point of contact between iT1 Consulting and the rest of the organization, as well as iT1’s customers, in setting up, configuring, and deploying Client assets.

Requirements

  • Set up and configure computers and peripheral based on the scope of work.
  • To accurately diagnose, the problem with a malfunctioning PC, Mac, laptop, printer or other peripheral.
  • Perform quality control on the project assigned.
  • Every project is different – technician is expected to follow instructions per project.
  • Respond to order requests and customer emails to assist in troubleshooting any problems that arise
  • Act as a subject matter expert in day-to-day operations
  • Ability to train team members on process, tools, and technology

Essential Functions:

  • Imaging laptops and desktops
  • Hardware and software installations and configurations
  • Troubleshooting desktop and laptop hardware and software issues
  • Bench testing refurbished devices such as PC, Monitors, switches, phones etc.
  • Desktop and Laptop repair
  • Server hardware configuration
  • Small office installs
  • Documentation

Job Qualification Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Excellent communication written and verbal skills
  • A+ or comparable experience
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
  • Working knowledge of common desktop applications
  • Strong knowledge of desktop and laptop computer hardware
  • Ability to work full time
  • Occasional travel
  • Be able to lift 50lbs
  • Dependable transportation
  • Ability to multi-task

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.

  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Time spent in low postures (crouching, stooping, kneeling, bending)
  • Climbing (ramps, stairs, or ladders)

Duration:
This position is a benefits eligible, temporary role that has a 12 month duration.
