Confined Space Supervisor

Job Description
- Supervise all confined space work activities to ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations.
- Conduct pre-entry briefings and verify confined space entry permits before work begins.
- Ensure all workers comply with safe work procedures and wear the required PPE.
- Monitor atmospheric testing results and ensure continuous gas monitoring where required.
- Coordinate with Confined Space Safety Assessor (CSSA), entrants, attendants, and rescue personnel.
- Stop work immediately if unsafe conditions or hazardous atmospheres are identified.
- Maintain records of permits, inspections, and safety documentation.
- Ensure emergency rescue procedures are understood and ready before entry.
Requirements
- Possess valid WSQ Supervise Work in Confined Space Operation certification.
- Knowledge of Singapore WSH (Confitted Spaces) Regulations.
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience supervising confined space work.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Able to conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
- Familiar with permit-to-work (PTW) systems.
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, or at project sites when required.
2. Confined Space Safety Assessor (CSSA)
Job Description
- Conduct confined space risk assessments before work commences.
- Assess atmospheric hazards using approved gas detection equipment.
- Determine whether the confined space is safe for entry.
- Recommend appropriate control measures to eliminate or minimise hazards.
- Issue and endorse confined space assessment reports.
- Advise supervisors on safe entry procedures and emergency arrangements.
- Review confined space work activities to ensure continued compliance.
- Maintain assessment records and ensure regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Possess valid WSQ Assess Confined Space for Safe Entry and Work (CSSA) certification.
- Good knowledge of WSH Act and Confined Space Regulations.
- Experience in industrial plants, marine, oil & gas, construction, or manufacturing preferred.
- Competent in atmospheric testing and hazard identification.
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
- Able to work independently and make safety-critical decisions.
