Construction Control Inspector
Summary
Inspects civil-works construction sites, reviews plans and specifications, and ensures compliance with contract requirements for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
About the Position: Incumbent works under closer than normal supervision at the journeyman level performing assignments designed to provide the competencies, skills and experience required to perform more complex work at the full performance grade level.
Reviews project plans for constructability and prepare recommendations for improved design and materials.
Inspects District civil works construction sites.
Investigates the need for contract change orders in view of conditions at the worksite.
Reviews contractor’s cost breakdowns, progress measurement data, reports of materials and equipment use in or to compute periodic payments.
Reviews and interprets contract plans and specifications.
Resolves inspection and surveying problems through contractor representative.
Conduct inspections of completed work.
Provides technical and administrative guidance on the preparation of project quality assurance plans.
Prepares estimates for planning and contract modifications.
