Construction Coordinator
You oversee construction execution on site, lead safety compliance activities, inspect work for quality, coordinate contractors and field activities, verify materials and deliveries, track progress and billing quantities, and support punch-list and turnover activities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee construction execution against design, contract quality, performance, and schedule requirements
- Audit field safety compliance
- Lead toolbox talks
- Audit field work practices
- Enforce OH&S, LOTO, hot work, confined space, chemical handling, working-at-height, tool safety, and environmental procedures
- Oversee subcontractor inspection test plans
- Perform field inspections against drawings and specifications
- Manage quality check-sheets and non-conformance reports
- Track corrective and preventive actions
- Coordinate weekly construction planning and construction meetings
- Process field RFIs and verify redline drawings
- Track submittals against site progress
- Monitor SIMOPS against approved plans
- Inspect incoming equipment and materials
- Maintain construction logs and verify completed work quantities
- Assist with punch-list inspections and turnover packages
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in construction management, occupational health and safety, engineering technology, or a relevant journeyman trade certificate
- 7–10+ years of field-based industrial construction experience in Alberta
- Experience with safety management and QA/QC procedures
- CSO or CSTS-20 certification
- Standard First Aid
- Training in hazard identification or QA/QC practices
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, P&IDs, and single-line diagrams
- Knowledge of MS Project or Procore
- CRSP or NCSO designation is an asset
