OCMI, a US construction management consultancy, is hiring a Construction Data Engineer on its IT and Data team to build and maintain internal business applications, modernizing Excel/VBA tools by integrating them with SQL databases via Python, APIs, and ETL processes, and supporting reporting and automation.

We’re excited to welcome a Construction Data Engineer to our IT and Data team at OCMI. This is a fantastic opportunity to help modernize and support business applications that power our project controls, scheduling, cost management, and operations teams.
In this role, you'll develop and maintain solutions that connect advanced Excel/VBA tools with SQL databases through Python, APIs, ETL processes, and related technologies. You'll work closely with business users and technical teams to improve automation, enhance reporting, streamline workflows, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance business applications that support project delivery and corporate operations.
- Modernize and support Excel/VBA-based tools through integration with SQL databases, Python applications, APIs, and other technologies.
- Develop and maintain database solutions, ETL processes, and system integrations that improve data quality and operational efficiency.
- Partner with business users to gather requirements, analyze workflows, and deliver effective technical solutions.
- Create and support reporting, dashboard, and data-management
- Perform testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance activities to ensure reliable system performance.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and end-user support materials.
- Apply secure software development practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience developing business applications, software solutions, or data-driven systems.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, VBA, SQL, and Python.
- Experience with database development, ETL processes, APIs, and system integrations.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
- Experience with software testing, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Construction, engineering, architecture, or AEC industry experience preferred.

Compensation: $105,000.00 - $125,000.00
