Founded in 2016, CMC is a full-service General Contractor firm which provides services such as construction management, design-build, and project management and manages projects with industry-leading innovation. Ranked in the Top 25 General Contractors that are minority, CMC is responsible for over $50 million in construction in a variety of projects including commercial, civil, and development in Texas.

As a Construction Crew Member, you are the backbone of our jobsites. You will support our superintendents, foremen, and trade partners by keeping the site safe, clean, organized, and moving on schedule. This is a hands-on role for someone who shows up, works hard, and wants to learn the trade. Our crew members are the bench for our future foremen.

Responsibilities include:

  • Follow all CMC and OSHA safety rules, wear required PPE, take part in daily safety and toolbox talks, and report hazards or near misses right away.
  • Prepare and maintain the jobsite: set up and break down work areas, install and maintain barricades, signage, and temporary protection.
  • Keep the site clean and organized, including daily debris removal, material staging, and housekeeping.
  • Load, unload, carry, and distribute materials, tools, and equipment to the right place at the right time.
  • Assist carpenters and other trades with demolition, framing, concrete placement and finishing, blocking, and general building tasks.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely; operate light equipment such as skid steers or forklifts once trained and authorized.
  • Protect finished work and installed materials from damage.
  • Communicate clearly with the foreman and superintendent about progress, problems, and material needs.
  • Represent CMC professionally with clients, trade partners, and the public on every jobsite.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Reliable attendance and on-time arrival to the jobsite each day
  • Willingness to follow safety rules and wear required PPE at all times
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work as part of a crew
  • Basic familiarity with common hand tools, or a strong willingness to learn
  • Reliable transportation to assigned jobsites

Preferred

  • 1+ year of experience on a commercial or residential construction site
  • OSHA 10 certification (CMC can help you obtain it)
